This gem stone well-known in the trade under the name “Blue Mexican Chalcedony”, may not be confounded with the “Blue Agate”, described already from Brad  Cross in his book “The agates of northern Mexico”  . “Blue Chalcedony” is a usually vein-like formation in sediments. “Blue Agates” are formations in thundereggs.
