The Tongrube Plieskendorf is appropriate directly south for the city Calau, of which Plieskendorf is a local part. One reaches the pit, if one drives from Calau into southern direction to Werchow. The approach road to the pit is out-described. The gravel-pit is operating on miozenic bottle clay and the gravel of a young-tertiary Senftenberger River Elbe flowing relict. This gravel contain
agates.
